Wolves are able to suffer from a numerous amount of injuires and diseases.

In terms of injuires, wolves are able to obtain these from large prey (e.g. elk) that attempt to depend themselves when wolves attempt to prey on them. If the prey consisted of antlers, then it is more likely for a wolf to sustain a lot of damage and injuires.

Humans are also apart of how wolves are able to sustain injuries, such as setting up leg-hold traps, illegal hunting, cars, poisoning, etc.

Other wolf injuries can also be caused by falling of rock ledges, drowning in a swift river, combat between other wolves, attacks from bears, infections from porcupine quills. Within the Denali National Park, two wolves were killed by an avalanche.
